Guntur YSR Congress Party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V. Vijayasai Reddy on Saturday lampooned TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu for attributing motives to the resignation of Y.S. Vijayamma from the honorary president's post of Andhra Pradesh's ruling party and claimed that she had already explained the reasons for her resignation.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the second day proceedings of YSRCP's plenary here, he said Vijayamma in her address had made it very clear that she wanted to extend support to her daughter Y.S. Sharmila in strengthening her the party YSR Telangana Party established by her to usher in 'YSR Rajyam' in Telangana.

He said Chandrababu Naidu, who did nothing during his tenure as Chief of Andhra Pradesh post-bifurcation for five years and nine years as CM of united AP, should refrain from dragging names of family members. "Let him do politics. We don't have any objection. If he provokes, we can also speak several things on how Naidu back-stabbed his father-in-law N.T. Rama Rao and the activities indulged by his son Nara Lokesh," he stated.

Vijayasai Reddy pointed out that Y.S. Bharathi Reddy, wife of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is not in politics. "She neither attends official programmes nor party activities," he clarified.

Vijayamma earlier made an announcement that she is quitting YSRCP as its honorary president to avoid conflict of interest and focus entirely on strengthening YSR Telangana Party to strengthen the hands of Sharmila.

Naidu in his criticism during the 'Badude Badude' in Rayalaseema on Friday came down heavily on the YSRCP leadership for sidelining Sharmila first and later Vijayamma after using their services when the party was in Opposition. He also blamed the Chief Minister for the 'murder' of his uncle and former Kadapa MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

Vijayasai Reddy challenged Naidu to install a tower with a microchip to check authenticity of large crowds which thronged the first day of the two-day plenary. He said "as per our records, on the inaugural day, 1.68 lakh party members attended the programme of which 1.17 lakh had lunch arranged at the plenary."
